This morning, a whole school celebrated the graduation of 6th graders from the DARE program. We sing and celebrate and listen to great essays written by promising young people. There is some criticism of DARE. "It doesn't work. Kids still use drugs after going through the program." No program can claim 100% success. People have choices to make, but DARE gives them information with which to make positive choices. I'm glad we have this cooperative program with our police force. I'm glad our students get to learn and pledge their desire to stay drug free. I'm glad we get to sing each year for this positive program.
