Attention Families!

I'm letting you know about a new project
that is coming to the music room called

NE❤PS: Nebraska Loves Our Public Schools.

It has been launched on behalf of the Susie Buffett's Sherwood Foundation.  It's a a wonderful team of storytellers who are passionate about education, and whose expertise in crafting powerful video stories and generating buzz around those videos will help spread the word about great things happening at all levels PreK-12 and in all corners of our state.  Not only will each video be featured on the soon-to-be-launched website, they will also be spread the word through
traditional and social media.
I'm humbled and honored to have been chosen to be one of the teachers highlighted by this organization.  The videographer will be coming to interview me next week and will be filming our music classes on Wednesday.

Jackson Berkey Concert in Hastings! Don't Miss This!

Music Hall CanCan

The Galop from Jacques Offenbach's "Orpheus in the Underworld" is the tune most associated with the Can-Can. We are dancing this today as we learn about french composer, Camille Saint-Saens who wrote "The Carnival of the Animals." He stole the tune from his fellow composer and used it for the turtle as a joke!
