This is last year's brochure.  I will be updating it with new schedules etc. during the next few weeks.
I will send one of these home with every child the first week of school.
I hope you will keep it to refer to during the year.

An Apple A Day

I was tweaking lesson plans for the first few weeks of school and heard a song in my head.  (It happens often.)  This time...I actually had the tenacity to notate it!  I enjoy using Note Flight!  We will sing this in 3rd grade for the Apple Unit we enjoy each September!  Enjoy!

Piano Marvel

This is the method I would like to use if we are able to provide a keyboard lab in the future within the Adams Central Schools!  It's a dream!  It's a hope!  It's a delightful possibility!!

Stars and Stripes Flash Mob

Blog Backgrounds

Oh my goodness!  I love to change up my blog background!  I love change...as long as I'm in control of it!  Who likes change for the worse?  Yuck!  But...changing my blog background is free and fun.  I know...I've read experts that say you should not do this as it confuses folks and they don't know where they are!  I think though it may become a staple for me...change the background for the season!  And we all know there are more than four seasons!  There's back-to-school and Autumn and harvest and first snow and Thanksgiving and Christmas and winter and Valentines and Spring and Summer and on and on.  Here are two places I like to browse for fun backgrounds:

The Cutest Blog On The Block
and
Hot Bliggity Blog

Why not make a blog of your own and dress it up?

Enjoy!

Always dreaming...

We were cruising down the Hwy. on the 2nd day of July, my lovely daughter and me, when we passed the home of one of my co-workers, such a sweetheart of a lady, when it came to me!

This is what we need to do with the spaces of our theme song!

You will not even know what I'm talking about but...this is what happens to me: everywhere I go, I think of what I could do to incorporate something wonderful in my music classroom.  After shopping for cute clothes, and yes, I always think of how comfortable and stylish it will be in the classroom, we walked by a "dollar" store.  I had to go in to see what fun things were waiting for me on the shelves that I could use for school!   I didn't find anything this time but I will be back!

I'm obsessive about making my music room relevant and fascinating for my students!  And I love every minute of it!
And what about thrift stores?  Yes!  Here are a few of the items I have snagged through the years:
French horn...not even kidding...
Bongo drum...tall...fun...awesome...
Bop-it game...works great...
Stools...two of them...
Videos/DVDs...
CDs...less expensive than iTunes...
Books...so many I can't count...
Bean bag animals...I have over a hundred...
Maracas...
Baskets for storage...
Hats for props...
I even got a shirt for a bulletin board.  It says:
   "Real men sing real loud!"
I turned it into a cool dude and stapled him up!
Always on the hunt...
