♩♩♫♩Musical Musings with Mrs. Lukow ♫♩♫♩

"To know how to suggest is the great art of teaching. To attain it we must be able to guess what will interest; we must learn to read the childish soul as if it were a piece of music. Then, by simply changing the key, we keep up the attraction and vary the song." ~ Henri Fredric Amiel

Do Re Mi: If You Can Read Music, Thank Guido D'Arezzo

This is a book I read to my 2nd graders each year. I think I could read it each year to every grade for review and never be tired of all the applications within. The one most curious to me is how even 1000 years ago...people did not want to change, yet we look back on it and are grateful they did!

"I would say that Music Education in our schools should be a must. When all other things pass away, music and art are still the things that are remembered. Music is one of the things, like the ability to laugh, that has kept mankind going for thousands of years. Music keeps us sane."
Charles Schultz
