I began my life at Shaw Air Force Base, in South Carolina 100 years after the first shots were fired in the Civil War. My father was an officer in the Air Force. My mother stayed home to raise us. I have one brother who lives in Nashville, Tennessee.
I attended Bellevue West High School and graduated with a Bachelors of Music in Education with vocal emphasis from The University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1984. Juniata Elementary School was my first teaching position. I began in August and married Rex in October.
I worked at Juniata for five years and stayed at home with our children for eight years. I returned to teaching music in 1997 and have been teaching at Wallace and Juniata since that time. I added AC East to my docket in 2011. Our children are all married and we have 4 grandchildren!
I love teaching children and making music! I also enjoy reading, gardening, Autumn, travel, American history, gravel road walking, prayer, morning, chai, coffee, friendships and my family. We have two dogs, Scout and Wrangler. My family and I attend the Evangelical Free Church in Hastings, Nebraska where I am involved with the music ministry.
In Feb. of 2009, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. After initial tests, treatment and a short hospitalization stay, I am feeling healthy thanks to Plexus products and plan to continue my life and teaching career with thankfulness and joy! I would be happy to share my journey with you.
My education objective:
I aim to cultivate a growing musical awareness by providing enthusiastic instruction in music fundamentals and guidance in musical creativity.
"What we have once enjoyed, we can never lose.
All that we love deeply becomes a part of us."
May you enjoy today!
